My vision: improving the health of children by promoting good nutrition and healthful eating



Lucille Beseler is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator, professional speaker and is known as the Kid's Dietitian and  “Kid’s Nutritionist”. She founded the Family Nutrition Center of South Florida in 1991, a comprehensive practice providing in office consultations, as well as nutrition services to hospitals and other community organizations.

In 2009, Lucille founded the Family Nutrition Center Foundation to serve families that do not have access to nutrition services by providing free service through grant funding.


Lucille is a professional speaker, sought after for her motivational upbeat approach. She has spoken at national and state meetings, and corporate events.


Her media experience includes television and radio. As an author, her book- Nurturing with Nutrition: The essential guide for feeding infants and toddlers- is a 200 page how to book for parents on the principles of feeding their infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. The impetus for her book came from working with children and their families for the last 27 years. The book receives rave reviews from parents, grandparents and everyone who cares for children. She is the Nutrition Consultant for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital – Hollywood, Fl. for the Craniofacial program and the Cystic Fibrosis Center.


Lucille was elected in 2012 by her colleagues to serve on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics represents 75,000 nutrition professionals.


She has served as the President of the Florida Dietetic Association as well as the Chairman for the Dietetic Nutrition Practice Council of the Florida State Licensing Board for 9 years.


She is a volunteer for Kids Eat Right as part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation.

Awards and Recognitions:

• Florida International University Miami, Florida: Recipient of the Path of Public Health Award in Dietetics 2009 for community work in the area of Childhood Obesity
